One of the msin issues with a discrete dac in stray C and pcb layout and solder mask and contamination can really mess up the performance. We use to build discrete dacs using through hole andd were we glad when 16 bit r 2r were in hybrid.
Of course the reference is very important, back in the we'd start with a ref-02 and build on that. Of couse any design using 4052/3 switches is asking for some noise issues. During those days we would use dg 201 and Dg -180, much better.
The design sounds very nice. Also so do you have any prototype pictures?
Cheers

Hi everyone i have few noob questions for headphone speaker usage of this dac over pc (foobar2000)
1.) Is there anybody know what is the difference between these usb-->I2S boards and whichone is proper for the this project.

Isolated XMOS DSD DXD 384kHz high-quality USB to I2S/DSD PCB with ultralow noise regulator - DIYINHK
Amanero Technologies
I2SoverUSB - I2S over USB Audio
2.) What is the difference between this dac and pcm1794 builds,

After a small research i realized that only these support 384Khz;

You might want to also check jlsounds.com. They have a very nice USB receiver that supports DSD
Actually I do plan to support DSD, all there is needed seems to be a little bit processing and a digital low pass filter. But not in first firmware release.
I think DSD support would be a very interesting feature, especially as I already have the Amanero board.
Some time ago Søren indicated that some of the components needed were in back-order.... so we have to wait. Repeating requests at this moment seems rather pointless to me. If you requested already, you are on the list... I'd think.😉
People don't read, it's a pity.
It is pointless to duplicate request, and as I said a couple of times earlier, lets keep the noise down, please just send a private message instead of posting.
I do get the private messages, but I will not do any confirmations replies.
When closer to shipping I will collect ALL request, put them in a spreadsheet and sort on dates, and then send the priority spreadsheet to the two point of sales locations. It will be announced here, and everybody will probably then get a week to place the actual orders, you then just need to include your diyaudio name when ordering to get the priority.
The first batch is sold out and the second batch seems to be getting close to be sold out, although I'm not sure about the different versions. And I will make more.

Søren,
What might be helpful, so that you (with any luck) get bugged less, is if you put a short status notice in your signature (if the rules don't forbid it) so that every time you post the status will show up and more people will see that.

Please +1 for 0.01% or 0.02%.
Søren, I'm shocked. I read firts post every day for news, and the news appear in post 407. In this post you said "Keep an eye on initial post for updates. I will make a priority list based on post here and PM's".
In the initial post you did not mention "I will make a priority list based on post here and PM's", and this is a capital information.
Also, I have to learn in post 456 "The first batch is sold out and the second batch Seems to be getting close to be sold out."
Maybe better to delete the initial post to avoid encouraging confusion.
That's incredible.
Regards
Antonio
