What explaination can anybody give for this strange cone motion,
its not the camera or frame rate.

could this be caused by running a dvc sub off of seperate channels of the amp or maybe having the coils 180 degrees out of phase from one another?
No. Not unless the coils are on opposing edges of the cone. The voice coil former would be crumpled like a piece of junk paper.
That may be a passive radiator but it still doesn't explain the craziness, and is contraindicated somewhat by the presence of a nearby port.
What is that yellow thing in front of the speaker?

The unit is mounted in a car boot and there a reason that is not clear in the video why this cone motion is so twisted and warpped, any other ideas tho?
omfg
someone's playing a joke, that can't be a real functioning sub.
It goes all sorts of angles of axis. Unless this is some new two axis sub, not.
"stop motion video" comes to mind too. It may be a blown driver and they cut off the coil former and had their buddy push it in and out and speed up the video. Of course I really have no clue I'm just guessing.

I am 100% positive that its someone moving the cone from the back side and the video is being played back at a higher speed. It does look quite interesting though.

😀 wrong!
nah! the subs moving normaly but the camera res is causing it to look like its waving all over the place 😱

Good point, that sounds exactly it. I forgot how fast the cone [should] be moving.
If your eyes are so bad that they cant tell the clip is running at a faster speed than it was recorded at.......... then its time to go see the ol' eye doc O-O
Casey’s top-5 guesses as to what would cause such behavior in a cone:
Guess 5: A very, VERY angry rodent crawled in through the port.
Guess 4: You are playing something by The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.
Guess 3: A trainee at Midas (the muffler shop) saved you $37 by using your subwoofer cabinet as a muffler.
Guess 2: You live near the Oregon Vortex (http://www.oregonvortex.com).
… and finally …
Guess 1: You accidentally inserted your Windows XP installation disk into your head unit.

Took the clip into video editor and found that the speaker is pretty spot on 10Hz all the way though the clip. too consistant to be a hand job. So the only thing I can geuss is, some one took off the magnet, voice coil and the spider, making only the surround holding the cone so it is sloppy, it's being used as a passive radiator and the boot is causing some kind of uneven force on the cone.
But what a waste of a nice speaker that would be.. I guess someone has many unpaid bills like me and needed a big fridge magnet to hold them 🙂

what gives it away as a dogey film is just looking at it
if you were to remove its suspension and make it play 10hz it wouldnt last that long!

There is a part of the sub that cannot be seen from the front or back or sides that has PROBABLY been broken (due to abuse) that has made this woofer go madd...
Only people that know how they are built would know why its doing that... that particular customer has to send the woofer in......
Woofer porn (as it is called) is classified as abuse... Woofers like the Triple X are built to play music...not built to watch them move at full power just to video ... people tear up stuff that way....
