So is this transistor the T112 jfet from siliconix? It makes sense, as the amp mutes the sound when im not toutching the transistor.
Could i replace it with an equivalent one? Can you recomend me an equivalent for it?
It seems dificult to find it on my area.

The part is J112 and is now generic. Fairchild is probably the cheapest source but the availability could be easier from another manufacturer in your area. These are common parts in professional audio analog. equipment such as sound mixers.

However, before replacing, check that there is a switching voltage applied to the base connection of the J112 and that it changes when it should mute/unmute. That signal voltage (or lack of) may be the real cause of the part seeming faulty. Again, you can find connections from data sheets easily downloaded from the websites like "datasheetarchive" or from specific manufacturers websites if they make it or from the online catalogues of Mouser, Digikey, Farnell etc.
 
hi guys,
saw that there is some life here and i´m still sitting in front of some quested PCBs and a pair vs2108s. could you (scantos) or anyone else have a look at the power transformers? voltages and power ratings. it would be great bringing some life to these speakers.
