the vga hack has nothing todo with your graphics card its a mod you do on your lcd controller board so it can recieve info from the same out as your monitor so u can plug it into the plug as you have your monitor, though it does help to have graphics card which can move the image to the center of the screen because some people have reported that the image jumps down a bit.

you need this lens

Yes.. I know what is "VGA Hack" but i foun few instructions about it. Some jusk connect some wires but it dosn't work on every graphics cards. So.. I don't know.. if I make this "74LC86 - hack".. is my LCD will be work on every graphics card ?? ATI, nVidia and others ??

Sorry for my english. I'm from Poland 😛

you can download the Powerstrip to check if your card will work. in the advance settings, the 640X480i ( arcade ) resolution must be active or can be clicked, if so, then your card will work. you can also check if the c-sync tick box is active, then you don't need the "74LC86 hack".

2.5 meter diagonal with psone projector?

rmpmla how in the heck are you getting a watchable 2.5 meter diagonal image with a 320 x240 native psone screen? Everyone that has build a projector using this lcd screen has stated that the image is pixely and lousy any larger than 5 feet diagonal.

Are these results through your vga mod of your computer?
Would you say this is the big diference?

dracul, i'm no expert on this but i'll try to answer based from what i have done on this projector.
the FL of the NEC CRT lens was the distance between the psone LCD and the outer NEC CRT lens. the gap between the inner NEC CRT lens is very close to the PSone LCD (about 15 to 20 mm).
i used an unsplit fresnel from junked Leisegang OHP and this i placed around 13" from the outer NEC CRT lens. i initially started with the unsplit fresnel very close to the PSone LCD but i got a dim circular image. as i moved the fresnel away from the LCD, the projected image became brighter covering the whole LCD image. good thing is that i cut my fresnel with 1" border based from LCD screen size.

the psOne LCd i dismantled does not have a composite video input, so the image i post is a VGA resolution from PC via VGA hack and a PSone console resolution.

i also like to mention, if anyone wants to try this VGA hack for psone, i was not able to resolve the screen image of the movies via PC. something is missing. i can only view around 60 to 80 % of the whole screen depending on the DVD software player i used.

wish i could have continue improving the projector but WAF still rules in the house 😀
