PS95-8, why not sounding good?

Hello there. An update.

I installed a parametric EQ and computed a simple filter with flatness target = 4.

And... now a few songs I couldn't listen to sound good. Some of them very good. Really...

I recorded a sample with parts of a song, from a single baffle.

I'm hoping to achieve something similar with passive elements because I need to gift a pair of speakers to a friend who wouldn't want to deal with an EQ.

Looking forward to the next build with a different baffle. 4 more drivers to play with.

This is hard but fun.

Your series inductor needs to be at about 1.2mH to help with the low end. 0.3 is simply not enough.

The peak-dip combo will still exist, and a large inductor will deepen the dip even further. A notch filter will help with the peak, but nothing you can do about the dip. That entire band will be missing. I would use a shunt notch, easier to hit the 0.4 octave target presented by the peak.

I've not made a filter for the driver by itself, but plenty of projects using it so you should be able to find something you like by searching.
