Correct me if Im wrong but cant you go over on amps when it comes to a power supply? I need a 15V 2.7 amp PS and can find 15v 3.0A ps. Now is this OK. Im preaty sure it is, just checking that im not loosing my mind. thanks
I'm pretty sure it would work. But I'd go to my local electonics supplier and ask. Then if they say yes but are wrong, I'd hold them accountable.

No problem Video Freak. The load will only use the 2.7 amps specified from a power supply of the correct voltage. If the power supply is specified at 3 amps that means that it can deliver up to 3 amps into a load at the rated voltage.
Hope that helps

HDTVman is correct. In fact you *want* the supply to be rated a bit higher than the current you will be drawing, otherwise if you try and pull to much the supply will current limit (if you're lucky) and the voltage will drop. If you're unlucky it will blow a fuse or worse.
