We were still living in Florida about 1/2 mile from the everglades in 2006 when my wife came running into the house shouting "get your camera." I grabbed the Sony and ran outside to see it raining feathers. A hawk gad grown tired of that crummy swamp food and decided to fly east for some fresh meat from the city. He took a dove in mid air and was having lunch on the ground when I came out with the camera. I hid behind the black Volvo and grabbed a couple pictures before the camera noise sent the hawk up into a nearby tree with his lunch.

Here is "kitty" in 2013 with a fix on some possible food. Kitty was a feral cat that came with the property we bought. She was the only survivor from a litter born under the grey house. Kitty was not amused at the way we treated her hunting grounds as we had the grey house razed and we spent about a year clearing the land and preparing for a house build. The white trailer came with the property, and it is now used for storage. Kitty did not like any humans except for Joe who was in his mid 80's.
During the construction of our house Kitty would supervise from a hiding place in a tree or other suitable location.
Joe passed a few years back, so Kitty's favorite human is now me. When we had that near total eclipse just over a year ago kitty would not leave my lap despite dozens of birds foraging for worms which had appeared because of the darkness. Kitty is now at least 12 years old. She doesn't see as good as she used to and doesn't chase birds any longer. She will come running if I call her because she knows she will get some neck scratching and maybe a piece of whatever I'm eating.

From the look on its face, the feeling is mutual. Soppy g*t. Which one I'm talking about I'll leave to readers...And of course my favorite animal
I looked back through all the pictures that I took with the $179 Motorola G Stylus 2021 edition without 5G. Many of the pictures exhibit "ghosts." All ghosted pictures were taken with the HDR setting turned on, but only a small percentage of the HDR pictures have ghosts. Most of them have the sun behind the subject, or in the picture itself. None of the pictures taken without HDR have ghosts.
I gave that phone to my daughter and now use a Motorola G stylus 2023 edition with 5G. The HDR setting is "automatic." HDR is applied whenever the "brain" determines that it is needed. I does often help make the clouds really pop in a picture, but it brings along some unnatural friends, AKA ghosts. It did not take long to find some really ugly examples and some clean HDR shots from last September's Florida trip.
I have disabled HDR in my phone based on what I have seen today.
