Or throw some hot ashes inside. If trash bin was left in the way... why didn't you just push it to the middle of the street and then take it a block down the road?
I learned to drive in a milk truck. We have a milkman deliver ours.. 😎
Back in the 1950's my best buddies family had a automotive repair shop.
Next door was the last of the milk trucks garage. We would drive the trucks up to the shops for maintenance.
Not sure when milk and bakery truck deliveries ended, but it was long after ice trucks.
I'm getting old as I remember the milk wagon pulled by horses. OTH, the bottles were reused as opposed to today's plastic ones (And yes, I know that some people, in some places, can recycle them - but others can't, or won't)
Mayhaps where you grew up 😁I thought horses pulled the beer wagon?

When I was young there were 3 trucks. Sarnowski's for milk (arriving too early for me to see), Freihoffers for bread and pastry, then the Charles Chips truck. Oh, we got daily trucks around in the neighborhood these days too, but they all say Amazon...I'm getting old as I remember the milk wagon pulled by horses.
Another great thing about marriage is not having to worry about “being right” on any particular subject until your partner first admits to a mistake on their part. After 52 years, that becomes not impossible, just statistically improbable.Until you marry and then things will stop sucking and you will move on to complacency.
Complacency is good. My wife told me so. She also helps me drive now. She is the best helper ever. There’s nothing I do now that she can’t help with. She has learned so much since we met. I apparently have lost any knowledge I gained over the years. I am so glad she is here to help me now. What would I do without her.
Another stupid start page courtesy of Microsoft. These are usually full of errors, BS or outright lies, sometimes all of the above. They change multiple times a day and are usually ignored. This one caught my eye because of the picture of the "new Hyundai Pallisade." If that's what the Hyundai's new full size looks like, I want one........The picture shows a Corvette from about 1960. A category 6 hurricane, there is no such thing, but it has been discussed. Yes, I'm trying to pick which variant of the 6W6GT tube to torture next in my quest to reinvent the guitar amp.

I have learned not to click on these things. It just invites more of the same. We bought a new Hyundai Santa Fe last year. That brought three to five Hyundai ads to my start page every day. Most are for the Santa Fe, like we need two of them. I'm sure that somewhere deep inside the depths of the Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Ebay, YouTube data base (they share information) they know that the Santa Fe purchase was the first new car we have bought in 16 years. Maybe they think we still live in Florida as I do get lots of hurricane related junk during hurricane season including the cat 6 thing. I'm sure they know that I still watch the Miami TV news on YouTube during a storm threat.
I've given my big flat TV for free yesterday, do you need a computer ?I'm sure they know that I still watch the Miami TV news on YouTube during a storm threat.
I'm more amused by the notion that icing will soon drown out North Carolina. Icing goes on cake.

Our coal (for central heating boiler) was delivered by a steam lorry; I kid you not.I thought horses pulled the beer wagon?
By the way, not only is Mr Knopfler is British (so would never have been offered dollars), but when he had that much hair he wouldn't have been eligible for government assistance in any country. Damn fine musician.
