As one of the worlds most naive people, the amount of research time to figure it out... I am intellectually curious, but getting it immediately is far beyond my scope. I did the research and found an explanation of the scene's meaning. Now I have seen "Silence..." but must've blotted that one out.
Another example would be the recent Super Bowl, where "the whole stadium is responding with Am". First, I just dont hear it, no matter how many replays. Second, the performance doesnt even sound like music to my ears. Third, the performer got the same response at the grammys, along with 5 awards for what is called a "dis-track". 4th, I cant imagine why someone like Serena Williams would want to dance a "crips walk" in front of a super bowl crowd.
Takes too much time to suss out the answers to why everything seems like the Bizzaro world to me these days.

Took this picture downtown earlier today. Because of the cold I now apparently have to shoot my way into the building. Is it just me or does that seem a bit over the top?

Is a "man door" a man standing in a doorway, pretending to be a door? Does he make a creaking noise?Took this picture downtown earlier today. Because of the cold I now apparently have to shoot my way into the building. Is it just me or does that seem a bit over the top?

Nah. A door on the side of a garage, for example, is often called a man door. The door with the sign on it is a man door. I'm not really sure why it's called that and not simply a door. Perhaps to add specificity. A man door allows for people to walk through whereas other types of doors could be for vehicles, cargo, etc.Is a "man door" a man standing in a doorway, pretending to be a door? Does he make a creaking noise?
Mostly the sign is a great example of the dangers of jargon. I would never have referred to a revolving door as a revolver.

Well Tom, considering that many non Albertan residents think Danielle is looking forward to being at least Canada’s Texas - if not #51, it might not be long before open carry there is a thing.
I wonder how many chickens need to be milked to fill a single jug.🤣
I agree. 'Please use the revolving or swing door'I would never have referred to a revolving door as a revolver.
is more what you might see here.
Another great one from my favourite cartoonist...🤓
I like whiskey. Whiskey Taco Foxtrot is a bar in Michigan. I don't know where I got Waco from. Mandela effect? My only quibbles would be that 'G' is Golf and to be pedantic, in the phonetic alphabet 'A' is spelled Alfa.
And Arthur, I've never seen Waco used - to the best of my knowledge, from at least WWII on W's been Whiskey.

Could someone kindly explain the above conversation to a non-native English speaker like me, please?
Edit to add: just noticed that if one reads the initial letters of those words one gets the sentence "WE DONT GIVE A F#CK".
Is that it?
Aahhh... roger. Snafu.

I tuned it out after halfway through the first quarter.
Someone must have the bet on "KC scoreless in the first half"... a thousand dollar bet..... Yowza!

Where do the women get in?
Hello Arthur,I don't know where I got Waco from.
There never was a "waco". There was a "wilco", before the nato phonetic alphabet, which meant "will be complied with" but it has been replaced by "Roger".
Sincerely,
Ralf
Manually operated automatic door? Like an automatic gearbox with a manual gearshift.Took this picture downtown earlier today. Because of the cold I now apparently have to shoot my way into the building. Is it just me or does that seem a bit over the top?
