Indeed, it was the combination of extensive nylon hardware and thin cardboard shims on the perimeter panels that really got me.^Very topical!
Mr Evans might be of the mind that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, but holy crspballs, as good as it might sound that’s a mechanical accident just waiting to happen.
Manufacturer quoted repair of £6,000 to track down and replace a $.10 tantalum cap? Never did hear what Mark charged, but at least it included a repair manual. 😵

This is a time bomb with a handful of tantalum capacitors.. Or an IQ test: find the shorted tantalum capacitor without disassembling the whole stuff.
