Right, but I meant to correct for source imbalance, non-optimal speaker placement, etc.
It would be nice to have a balance control, and not having to add another pot as is done
with regular setups is an advantage.

Since this is done entirely in HW there is no easy way to add balance control.
But then again, this is meant to be used in headphone amplfiers so channel balance should not be much of a problem.

Hi Neutrality,
i have read your thread about your diy project of the attenuator.
It sounds very good and interesting and is what i am looking for.
Is it possible to order pcbs from version 1 and 2?
With best regards
Jörg

Hello
Any possibility of using this good hardware for remote controlling and input selection.
You could buy a remote controlled linear pot and use that with this board but you would still need another separate board if you wanted channel switching.
Also, this specific attenuator version has not been available for several years.
The current up do date and final version is V3 :
Pop/click free HW-based relay attenuator V3
I did something similar with volume, input, mute and an IR remote, all digitally controlled. I used through hole as it is easier for the average DIYer to build and yes it is a little bigger. Hardware is easier to build and troubleshoot than a MPU. Check it out.
