I wanted a better 12 volt AC power supply to replace the wall wart I was using. I ordered an external 12 v AC PSU that looked from its photo to be well made..
The PSU consists of custom manufactured prefabricated parts. Everything inside plugs into a predesignated slot. Therefore, I can not switch any wiring internally at the IEC socket. My AC power is in reverse polarity to what the PSU was built for. I can not flip the three prong plug.. My AC outlets have been wired correctly.
Just so happens.. I had ordered it with two umbilical power cords, each having its barrel socket reversed from the other for different components it may power. I was able to correct the polarity at the component itself by using a reversed barrel connector. But, the PSU itself remains in reversed polarity.
By having corrected the polarity at the component itself, but not the PSU? Are the any negative effects from the reversed polarity remaining inside the PSU on the audio? Should the PSU be corrected at the source? Or, has any audible distortion been cancelled by what I did? .... Anyone?

There is no polarity on AC power line, the only thing you need to make sure is proper earth connection, it is called AC after all, jeez, learn much physics at school?...

I am sorry that you do not understand how it applies to an audio component. I realize AC is alternating current. But, there is a phenomena that takes place that is audible when all your components line up with how the current is flowing into each unit. Maybe someone else some day will explain it to you. At this point it appears you know everything to know. So, I will not try.

There is something taking place in a component's chassis when the plug orientation is reversed between the hot and neutral. This will be consistent from one component to another. And its sounds better when the goal is reached for each component in your audio chain..

Still, does not explain why it should sound different. Is it too much to ask for an explanation or do you need to be an audiophile to understand the logic?
There is no explaining myths, they are without logic or reason, started by people who either lack in basic physics understanding or have some well defined purpose. In this case i think is the former.
The transformer galvanically isolates the equipment and the resulting AC is rectified so the AC polarity of the mains becomes irrelevant
A mains transformer is likely to be slightly asymmetric with respect to stray capacitance from the primary to other nearby stuff. Hence reversing mains phase can sometimes bring about a minor change in hum or interference. Small effect, and probably inaudible in most cases. Which way round is best will be different from one item to another, so certainly no need to line them up or any such nonsense. Like all small, usually negligible, but real effects this has been blown out of proportion by some audiophiles. Others, who don't actually understand the effect, then regard it as important.

That is how the term "polarity" is used for audio in the United States...and some other countries, too. For my polarity direction finder designed for audiophiles was made in Japan.. Directions written in Japanese.

I guess the OP is talking about the type of power cable that only has neutral and live .
I remember reading Hi-Fi magazines years ago that advised trying this type of cable by inserting it one way then turning it over so the connector pins locate in the opposite side.
One will give a better ' flow of electrons ' apparently and better sound quality.
Snake oil for people with too much time on their hands.

Its not snake oil. But? For you it is. I hope someday you learn what a transparent audio system can sound like and what it will reveal.
Its not just for two prong systems. You need to make a cord with the ground plug removed to test. Its a consistent phenomena. And, I do hear differences easily. I just removed the ground insert from a cheap cable and use that for testing purposes only. It works. It shows correct orientation.
Some manufacturers get it right. Some do not. I guess some feel like some here do. It makes no difference? Yes it does. You can hear it if your system is transparent enough.
