PM woes...

We've also tightened up the signup process and PM privs during that process, swapped math questions for audio questions, and made some other changes, that hopefully will see us uneventfully through to the move to XF in month or so.

Keep in mind this wasn't really a hack, just a scripted signup of new fake members, so more akin to an abuse of what's allowed. The system worked as intended, but vBulletin isn't great at preventing spammy members signing up, and we had very lenient PM restrictions set for those new members.

Although this was not an intrusion but more a misuse of what was already available, it sounds like it all worked out for the better. I appreciate all the hard work and that we were kept in the loop with what was happening and our questions answered quickly. Thank you!

Hopefully, the new forum software respects 'old' GPUs and CPUs. However, my positive expectations of such software are next to none. These days, young programmers are uninterested in writing efficient software, what they are interested in, is doing less coding time. The blame is more attributable to their bosses rather than the actual programmers.

I think that is correct. Forward means to send it other members which you have to enter.

You should see the sender name filled in if you click 'go advanced' below the message. You don't need do that though, just type your reply in the quick reply box and send and it will go to the original sender of the message.

I would say not. Have you exceeded the number of pm's allowed? I can't just think of anything tbh that would cause that.

Perhaps try another browser as a test.

Has this only happened today or has it been like this a while?

Quantensprung, we've been giving the reply button some thought.. however it is still possible for you to send PMs. You can either use the quick reply method by typing in the box as shown below, or you can use the standard editor by clicking 'go advanced'.
