Plethora of Pinjatas / SET P amp(s)

Transformers and caps arrived for dual mono power supply replacement, just waiting for boards to arrive.

If thinking about this one, I don't think you will be disappointed! Big, open sound, steeped in "spookiness" so go for it.

It is also cat approved!

Those boards should arrive Saturday.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a Pass/FW/ZM ClassA Cat Recharging Station! Lately one of my cats is sitting on my Pearl 3 every day, and the P3 is getting some rising heat from an F4 lower in the setup.

Perfect. I can redo the PoP power supplies, AND, unless I do it tonight I am ready to attempt another fire up attempt of my repair of difficult channel of XA 252.

First channel repaired no problem. The channel that's difficult kept failing. Finally replaced ALL the actives. I did find one additional "T" items that was dead that had not failed on "good" channel. T7 maybe? Not sure now.

Not that big of a problem normally, but having replaced Q1 and Q2 several times,
A pad or two vaporized. I did careful repair job. Feels solid and I seem to be getting continuity from Q1 and Q2 legs to places the schematic shows I should be.

Just being super Omni sissy on flipping switch. It is on a variac, but still ...Omni sissy

I won't look into this until dual mono power supply install later today, but I have noticed two things I'm wondering about. One, I think is totally normal, same behavior as XA252.
Power off small, extremely small, such that you would need quiet room to hear miniscule tick when green led goes out.

The other is a noticeable turn on pop. It is NOT intrusive, just slight on turn on. Reading
Most say thumpless, so thought I would check.

Be back if still remains, not a problem, not much. Others experience this? XA252 had the slight off pop when led went out, but silent on turn on.

Older post, but just caught your calculation of 400 dampening factor.
well with the speakers I had at that time it made more difference because they were dipping at 3.4r, with the ones that I have now(~6r minimum) the difference is smaller.
To mention that there were 2 pairs of Toshiba mosfets connected in parallel which gets a bit expensive.
I am planning to try it with parallel Fairchilds in place of the Toshibas.

So you doubled up on the outputs, or did I misunderstand? If not, well, of course I may
Not have that much dampening factor, with standard outputs and only a pair per channel.

I have sufficient Toshibas bought in days of plenty. I'm just sticking with standard setup.
