Please explain what is i2s what is USB to i2s,reclocker,etc.

I am pretty novice about these.

I have a Logitech Squeezebox Touch and no DAC. I want to buy a DAC and use the Touch only as a streamer. Why do I need i2s? What advantage it would give me? What is reclocker? Do I need this too?

It is all very confusing for me. Can someone explain in plain language? Thanks!

Yes, I do. I have read before I posted my question but as I mentioned I wanted to have it in plain language. This is little too technical.

I am asking this. What will a re-clocker or another piece of equipment connected to Touch give me? What is it good for?

Thank you for the reply. So, what you are saying is that people who uses re-clockers are wasting money. Did you try one before?

I never tried these things and I wonder if I am missing something. Can I improve the sound of my SBT? Dunno.

...is already untrue in the era of high speed serial interfaces. I.e. since around year 2005
