D4mn,
You guys got it made! I have to use dead rattle snakes soaked in saltwater for probes around here.

Poobah,
Bet you got quite a "bite" from high voltage now & again! (arrrgh, forgive me).
Joe, things were so tough here that I used to hold a pen while someone pulled the paper by as I grabbed the test point. That 'scope was a big step forward as only one person was needed to troubleshoot. Not counting the guy pedalling the generator.
It's a pretty cool item for sure. As I said, a 1" tube. Nor even a flat screen.

Some youngster would salvage that tube and make some kind of Vu-Meter with it, I'm sure 😉

You actually had a guy to pedal the generator? I used to have to multitask.

Now Joe!
I know you are considered one person when you get married, but you can't call cracking the whip as your wife pedals as multitasking! 😱

Let's up this thread to let you know that...
the prototipe of my preamplifier is finished!!! Hurrà! 😀
Now it has a phono section with an ECC83 and an ECC88, this last tube choiche is done to drive the volume pot with a lowish impedance. Then there's a volume pot, then there's a ECC88 CF with a 2-transistor CCS on the cathode. Very very very good sound.
Now I've got to make the definitive building...

Hi Giaime,
Good going. Post a schem when you are done.
The best part is you designed and built it yourself.

Oops... I hadn't thought about that!
I remember the old Fuji Film commercials... where they were displaying their vibrant colors on the TV...
Thought I might get this past you guys...

No problem about that Joe 😉
But I still have too many things to do
- the definitive building of this preamp
- a power supply for my new turntable
- some high efficiency loudspeakers
- a 10W EL84PP tube amp
- become an EE 😀
And then I can look for ladies
(seriously, I'm taking very seriously your word Joe 😉 )
