My pipes are made of Polypropylene, very different from PVC. And I invested in premium pipes for this particular build, which are ment to last many decades in service. However, direct sun exposure might be problematic for many plastics, which is a pity if you make the pretty enough to have on display!

Yeah they should both look and sound good. They were low budget solutions to get the maximum of quality for the lowest price. The units are obsolete for many many years now. They were most beautiful in unpainted gray color of the PVC but then UV had its influence. The survivors usually are the painted ones. The series filter made them easy loads for light amplifiers.
