Here's my rebuilt B1. Waiting for stepped pot to arrive. Installed Alps for now.
Other particulars are Mundorf silver/gold/oil and Mundorf MKP caps. Vishay s102k in path. Silver/gold wire. 24v laptop power supply. Building superreg from Jan's boards.

On the homemade Faraday cage I did not isolate it from the main bolt, should I have? It floats above the torroid.

if it floats (no electrical connection to anything but central screw ) , there is no short , so leave it as is
though , you'll have better screening if you make deeper one , connected/based to bottom plate if case , while central donut screw mustn't have connection to it

Gotta ask, what's the average parts cost for one of the F4s? I'm wondering if it might be something for me and I've got to admit, these pictures of your guys versions are just darn sexy!
