i got this number from the back of the lcd, its LM-GK53-22NTX, i searched online and found that its made by sanyo, and i think its a laptop lcd, anyways, the resolution is 1024x768 and its 13.8 inches, its a really great lcd, i bought it on ebay for 225$ and the guy hooked up the controller and the inverter for me, i dont know where he bought those things 🙂 but it works ghreat i just tested it n my pc, now i wont hae any results soon because i intend on building a gaimng pc from scratch and im searching online for the best deals, P4 3.0 ghz etc, anyways, my screen will, i hope, be the projection screen and i will then connect the lcd to the pc and the pc to the tv cable, which i will do by buying the ati all in wonder with vido in capability, that means ill be able to do everything with one box... sweet, of course i intend on installing a dvd player and maybe a dvd burner along the line to well... ya know 😉 get some movies at a cheaper price

heres the lcd with the plastic piece that helps filter the light i believe, its also very easy to take apart, you just pull it out... i think ive mistreated my lcd enormously, its been tossed around too much but im glad to inform it still works great, and i will be more careful with it from now on, its a tough sob this one

WOW, cool! I pulled an lcd almost identical from a dead IBM thinkpad!
What controller board is this you use on yours??? I love the "no ribbons" concept as well, it's great! This lcd looks very compact and I think it would be great as a projector since it only needs one cable and no saggy parts or bits hanging off it.
If you could please tell me how to find one of those controller boards, I'd be grateful!
EDIT!: I just looked at the model on my lcd and it's almost the same, also made by Sanyo😱 LM-FG53-22NDK I bet it works with the same board!

macaronaroni,
What are the specs on that lcd? responce time? contrast ratio? I just recieved my CMV1515, but I am considering this lcd, if it is easy to get a hold of. It looks like you have found a very good lcd if all the specs are up to par Also, you will not have any trouble with the fresnel issue. Great find, and good luck with your project.

Where is the power cord ? Dose it have a power brick or somthing or is it just the bare panel and you have to get power yourself (power cable, brick whatever).?
the power from these panels comes right from the controller board it seems. THere's only one cable you need to connect to the panel.
hey im glad you guys like my lcd 🙂 im sorry to say that i dont know what the contrast ratio is, i dont really know how to find out about it, also i dont know about response time, if you could tell me how to check for those things ill be glad to do so and ill get back to you!
also, the power for this board is 12v straight, the guy i bought it from had the controlelr board all hooked up and had th epower cable also all hooked up, he recommended straight voltage from a computer's power supply (the yellow wire+black ground) so i tested it that way and it works great, the power connects to this board and the board to the lcd, of course bear in mind that it also came with an inverter piecce which would power the back lights but we all know we dont really need it right?
i will try to contact the seller and get the information on the board, be patient! 🙂
