alot of people don't realize alot of the trial tubes that were in the works even today.
the 6dz7 were RCA trials but didtnt fly, nice though gives you the option of parallel or push-pull operation. there are 7189's in one envolpoe...they are better version of the 6bq5's or el84's.

Saba TK220 power amp
My first post here in the Tube Photo Gallery
Here you have pictures of my ECC83/ELL80 SE 2x3W power amp, which original is from an 1963 Saba TK220 reel2reel recorder, i have re-used caps/resistors from the record/playback amplifiers since they where of higher quality, compared to the original caps/resistors used in the power-amp, one el-cap is new stock, the housing is from an old Motorola car phone...., the mains transfomer are housed in another box

That's a nice compact amplifier you have there!

Thank you Jim
I did yesterday go trough the entire gallery ...,
so many incredible and/or nice projects
but one thing i did not see that many of ..., where "micro" power-amps
so i did think "why not post my amp for/as inspiration of what to do with leftovers from parting out" ???
The matter is that i did buy the Saba reel2reel for an symbolic cost of $
with intention to pull 3x ECC83/12AX7 from it..., i hoped to find Telefunkens what i did get was nice long plate Siemens which is not bad at all
So the power-amp was just an bonus which did perform quite well as seen on the shelf picture.., the result after the re-build is non less than impressive for an amp with modest 2x3W ..., so i now use it for PC sound feed by an modified M-Audio Audiophile USB converter.
This is our livingroom set.
Added a iPod dock + phono preamp (VSPS) to the amp I posted earlier.
Both amp and dock have a home-etched faceplate.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Wow! That's a nice one.
Is that a complete wooden chassis?
How did you finish that wood, I like that color combination.
Also, how is the labeling done?
