Nice preamp 845! Where do you find those chassis?
Any schematic of your preamp? Looks interesting!

Its only 2W a side, so still need to find some pretty efficient speakers, if any one could point me in the right direction.
I havnt done any serious testing on it other than a listening test, and to me it sounds fantastic. Even with the transformers as Stalker pointed out, arnt ideal. But the bass response is surprisingly good. Plus they were free....

Very nice craftmanship! How did you finish the caps and trannies?
Is that Zebra Wood?
Thanks SG!
the caps have a rolled lip so i cut the hole with a hole saw just enough to fit the cap but not the lip, Tranies are painted with spray paint gray and silver.
Thanks!Beautiful execution.
How does it sound?
I'm loving it that all i can say i dont really know all the AUDIOPHILE terminology but ill give it my best. Bass is verry good compare to my Rh84 verry powerfull with the LED bias i notice more gain and good notes seperation crisp and clear verry powerfull.
let just say im very excited especially going from the el84.
Thanks!

What speakers are you using with it?
Am alternating between a Vandersteen 1, Coral full range and a diy speaker with vintage sansui alnico woofer and a ribbon driver for mids and highs on my amp (same circuit as yours).
You can also try using plate choke on the 6n1p, you will be amazed with the improvements. 😉

Speakers are oringinal 60's Heresy.
I also do use plate choke for the 6n1p 5h@270r.
