thanks for the great schematics and board layouts nonoise! i would go all out and use a groundplane and many other optimizing features in this design, but unfortunately i'm limited to a single-sided board etched with ferric chloride. 🙁
what do you think of my design, though? 😉

Hi Brad,
Your probably fed up with advice and just want to get on with it. However if you are going to hand etch and drill the PCB I would recomend increasing the size of the pads on the PCB for all the parts. The pads on single sided PCBs especially home etch ones tend to peel off quite easly and you may find it had to hit the center of the pad with the drill.
If your PCB package supports teardrop pads then these are the best to use for single sided boards. (litterally pads that look like a teardrop blending into the track)
Also if you are going to hand drill it I would recomend moving the input connectors up and running the power to the relays underneath the relays so you don't have to drill all those holes and fit links.
Hope it goes well.
Andrew

aye, i forgot to enlarge the pads for this board. 🙂 thanks for the help about the relay power tracks too, anything that saves me time during drilling with my silly dremel press is worth the time spent on the computer!
