Hello Everyone,
I believe I have found the perfect reflector. I will post pictures soon, and if anyone is interested, I will start selling them. I would like to get some feedback on exactly the absolute best position to have the bulb in a spherical reflector. I am using Alan's 250W Double ended MH bulb, and the reflector is just about the same size as the bulb. Please give me your opinions on where the bulb should be placed in a spherical reflector.
Thank you,
Steve

Hey spin Just Inside of the reflector I would think is best as thats how many OHP's do it. Let us know this magic reflector Im tired of the one that came in the OHP its too small for the 250w DE metalhalide.
Video Freak and Forum,
I will post pictures soon. The past few days I have been side-lined with a diy projector injury. !!!!---WARNING---!!!! Double Ended 250W MH Bulbs will BURN your eyeballs! It was a very painful lesson I learned. Please wear eye protection when working with these bulbs. Just a little public service announcement. Now back to business.... I didnt want to cut into the sides or the reflector, so I just mounted the bulb just above the rim of the reflector, and seems to act more as a flood light, rather than a spot light. Next I think I might cut some slots in the side of the reflector and see what kind of results I can get.
Pictures will be posted soon,

P.S. All discharge lamps (most use quartz glass due to high temp) emit UV - it can burn your eyes(but probably only hi-power ones like 575 HMI), so UV filter (ordinary glass works fairly well) is nessecary. Learned that by accident - used to work with some pro lighting fixtures, with 575W HMI lamps - with opened enclosure and realised that smthng isnt right with my eyesight after looking at them, some time after I read bout that on internet...
Spin me like me like the reflector i could just use mY dremel and cut out some spots to let the bulb sit more inside, How reflective is the metal? what can one use to make it even more relective? anyone have any Ideas?😕
Video Freak,
They are stainless steel and highly reflective. Any metal polish should do the trick. If anyone else is interested please email me at smaetal @ tds dot net.
Thanks,
Steve

Reflector Dimensions
Sir_Vival,
The dimensions of the reflector are 3 7/8" in diameter, and ~ 1 1/2" deep. With base the reflector is 2 1/8" tall. Please feel free to ask for more pictures or information.
Thanks,
Steve

what the heck is it though?
What the heck is that little thing though (besides a reflector) What did it come from?
Looks like the kind of thing that maybe would get passed around in church to put money in. Did you just take off your sock, pour the money in and pass the sock, keep the bowl?
