Yes more pictures please. Some of the drivers perhaps.

Nothing interesting to show really. Sub is still in the same state with no further progress.

My 40" hi-def LCD set arrived a few days ago but the setup is all a bit makeshift for now, nice picture and it really blends well with the paint job on the Perceives with both having gloss black/silver.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I've also decided to ditch the DEQX and go back to the PCXO setup after some revelatory results that even with only a week or so worth of tweaking just plain sounds better than what I had from 7 months with the DEQX. Its not something I'd have said before but in direct comparison to the PCXO it sounds overly processed and sterile. Anyway my equipment rack(which cost me £20 from a carboot 🙂) looks like the antithesis of an audiophile setup and pround of that fact too I am. Also slowely getting around to mounting all the amp compoinents properly in their cases, not bad considering I've had those for a few months now too Sadky this means I'm using a few year old technics HT receiver as a stand in until those are finished, its a real gutless POS but I use it all the time for measurements outside and the like because its convenient to have 6 channels in one box plus I wouldn't be gutted if it got scratched/dropped/rained on 🙂

Does this ever end? I've still got room treatments to build, the sub to finish and lots of little annoying things.

graduate, make decent money, and be like ShinOBIWAN

Gluck on the rest of the project, shin!!
This is probably the best project I've seen so far on DIYaudio
😎

BTW, since you're running all active with all different amps, would you give me a run down on how you calibrate and measure the whole system?

haha, I agree. I've got 5 years of school, just started my first. Just tonight 2 of my friends and I decided we would live together next year. They both love music too. I told them I would be bringing my 27" LCD from home and that we are going to have to make room for lots of speakers. They were happy to hear such things.

Shin,
Looks great. Can't wait to see more pictures as the project gets further.

Thanks, its not all about the audio though, cars are another one of my weaknesses:

My pride and joy: Limted edition Jap spec 'Tommy Kaira' Subaru WRX STi v2 with 305bhp that I had imported from Japan. Its perfect for pulling the ladies, although they usually just end up screaming for the lives once the turbo kicks in and the thing starts to pull like a train. Awesome stuff 😀

Goddamn Vik, sweet ride.

There's a million and one Scooby's and Evo's but you don't see many top spec FTO's. I tried to get something a little different so I looked at imports and happened across the Kaira which has different styling, uprated brakes and more power than a british spec WRX, wish I could have afforded a 22b though! I had a test drive in an FTO a few years ago now, think it was a late 90's model and the GP spec. Handled real well although it didn't have the sheer rip ya back in the seat acceleration of the scooby I have now.

I've been looking around for some new rims but a mate has 19's on his and the ride is aweful. I do like a bit of comfort so may go for 18's and once I get those on I can start looking at uprating the brakes to 6 pots and larger disc. As you might imagine I've concentrated more on the ICE than anything else, currently running the Seas 2-way Lotus components with a Genesis Compact 4 neatly tucked away until the dash and a Blaupunkt Rome headunit, no subs!(I hate to see and hear them in cars). Not interested in anymore power, its already more than fast enough to kill yourself in should you start to drive like an idiot - they cost too much in parts and petrol if you abuse them anyway.

Yes it was certainly a nice looker. At 100bhp per litre NA 😉 but only 2 litres to work with, it was a bit tame amongst the real powerhouses. Well respected for one of the best handling FWD cars and mine was nearly grazing the floor. Speed bumps were no fun for the trail of people behind me. With the 18" and tin can build quality you can forget about any comfort. But that's what I call feedback and not neccessarily uncomfortable. Straight wire with grain perhaps 😉

But as you say, no rocket up yer rear and that's essentially what was missing, as well as RWD. Other than that it was absolutely superb.

Well it's not too my liking as well, and here's probably why it attracted so many of the wrong type of people, but it had all sort like flame exhaust thingy, under chassis neons, cabine neons, steam arch ejectors and subs that could redefine your heart beat should you wish. None of which was my cup of tea, but still it gave plenty of ammunition to my mates with the constant echo of 'Too fast too furious' at any opportunity.

As you can tell from my past tense, she's gone now, but I did always fancy the RX7 should I ever go back to having more money than sense in the future. 😉

I take it you bought the car with all those mods already done, if not then I considered you as someone with taste! 😀 I'm not into all that fast and furious stuff with the big sound systems featuring 7kw + 4x 12" subs pressurising a space of about 30cuft. I prefer something quick, sounds well and has a reasonable quality no frills stereo.

I don't think it really matters what you've done to the car, its just that if its seen as sporty or quick then some plonker will come and try their hand. A couple of days ago I had some tosspot in a Focus RS spluttering his dump valve(pointless things, what you want is a recirculating valve but I guess that's boring because they don't make much noise) in my rear view mirror for about a half mile, the guy clearly wanted to see who'd got the biggest balls and car. I carried on regardless and watched as he shot past whilst simultaneously thinking 'stroker'.

"Track days are the place to act daft and not the public highway kids"

So what do you drive now and please don't say an MPV or ATV 🙂

As well as the usual Corsa's, Escorts, Clio's etc I also had some suprising ones who were looking to engage. The Bentley coupe for example (which I swear was jet propelled the way it went), a few TVR's, and a WRX with a very scary testosterone filled woman driving like she was in a rally - in norhtampton town centre! But mostly it was middle aged merc and bm owners who seemed to be the worst culprits of showing up their insecurities. Quite funny that.

Never made it on a proper track with the FTO (went Formula Ford driving recently which was awesome), but went to Japfest last year which was quite good.

Yep, the previous owner did all the mods. He was just a kid with a heft credit card bill by the end of it. The only things I'd d one was sorting out the mess of electrics left behind, toning down the subs and putting some components and balancing it up properly. Also some toning down of the looks by taking that ridiculous spoiler off 😉

I sold it to another mid 20's IT guy so I'd obviously done something right.

Even better, a Vectra! Kill me now, please.

Yep, tell me about it. My most unusual would had to have been one of those Movano things - they're similar to transit vans. It was bizarre actually, there were three youngish looking degenerate lads in the cab and they simply kept overtaking me on the bypass then slowing down so I'd have to overtake them or else crawl at about 50mph and this went on for 3 swap arounds. In the end I just put the foot down and disappeared, not quite sure why they'd think a nail Movano was suitable race material but like I said, they certainly looked thoroughly degenerate.

An FTO range topper to a Vectra?!? Tell me, was it the CD model  Next thing you'll say its a diesel!

Kidding of course, nice, sensible, comfortable, reliable car.
