Thanks for the suggestion, the pipe rang like Big Ben with just a gentle flick. With the silicon in its near dead.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the caulking gun *just* fit down the pipe so I was able to fill from the bottom up. It took around 1.5 tubes of silicon with zero mess, I had vision of having to poke the stuff to the bottom and a huge mess. God only knows how long the bit in the middle will take to set but the parts exposed to the air where set nicely.

..and here I thought it would take more than two tubes AND would be messy. Sometimes things just work out  (..and well they should after the table collapse! :hot: ).

that part about the "dry-time" reminded me of the hoover dam - projected to cure in about a century I believe.. 😀

Permanent marker may cover the metal plate and screw heads.
As an alternative try to get some black nail varnish and try on a scrap piece to see if it affects your existing finish. You should be able to get a reasonable finish with it to more 'match' the surroundings. But please (once again!) trial before slapping it on.

You could get a piece of black sticker (the type they use on signboards from e-bay or a sign maker and stick it over the aluminium. It will give you a smooth seamless finish, takes very little effort, and is completely reversible if you dont like the look. Absolutely stunning work. I am left speechless:worship:.

Cable arrived and new room treatments arrived today. Got most of the treatments up, just bass traps and the rear wall needing to go up. Also wired up the bass cabinet and fit the ATC in:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Here's a few shots of the treatments I've managed to get up this evening and sorry about the rather dark images. My listening room is very dark due to light control for the home cinema side of things. This makes taking images very tough even with the spot lights on full. I've messed around with the brightness in Photoshop but I just don't seem to able to get a decent photo with my camera.

And finally here's one of the speaker cables I made up:

Are you intending to lacquer or have the feet anodized? & why's there 10 pieces?😉

And a quick note -

SLAYER! - SLAYER! - SLAYER!

They're awesome Live

Steve

Three Slayer fans here... woot!

Slayer is coming soon to my area :devilr:

I'm finding this to be very rewarding from a music
and thrashing point of view.

Opeth - Lamentations (Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire 2003)

They have two sets, the mellow set in the beginning
where they show off their musician skills, then they go
off and do the heavy set where the house comes down.
Diverse DVD, very good sound quality, good video,
excellent performance by the band. It's a hard sell to get
me to listen to newer bands as I still prefer the older school
sound.

Its automotive 2k so it should be OK. Basically the same stuff I used on the cabinets. It won't stand up to heavy knocks like the powdered enamel laquers but since these will just sit between the sat and bass enclosure they don't really need such a tough finish.

I gave up trying to find someone who was willing to cut some black coloured marble/granite and polish the edges for a reasonable cost. So the feet are a fall back option, at least now I can get rid of the BK Electronics catalogue currently being used as a standoff 🙂
