ctleak,
Would you be prepared to share postage with me? I am in SE London every fortnight and could collect from or deliver to you. I also just want one.

Well John, if the cost of posting two is less than two times the cost of posting one, we should definitely do this.

Andrea, count on me as a definite. By the by, how much is posting to London, UK?
Well, if UK hasn't gone out of the EU in the last days postage costs have been posted
😀
Cheers

Thanks for setting me straight Andrea. I guess as a typical Englishmen this EU business still seems a bit 'new-fangled' and 'not very English'. Are we 'in the EU', or is the EU looming threateningly over us? Is it friend or foe? They'll have to give my generation a few years to die out.
Anyway, I hope you and all the message-boarders had a cuddly little Christmas.

OT: Great Britain is the EU according to Blair but it has more discount every year than Holland has to pay in total. Besides that GB does not have the horror of the Euro. In short, GB has the advantages but nearly no disadvantages.
Nothing to be afraid of, really. That will change when you'll have the Euro 😉
On topic: Andrea, I maybe have another company that can make the transformers. Please wait till 6th of january. I will ask for 2 types, one including the 6.3 V and 80 V secundaries and one without them.

Ok I'll wait for news.

Yesterday I got a reply that they only make E-I or C-core transformers.
I asked for a pricequote.

Hi all,
I don't think that excluding the HV and filament secondaries would make the transformer remarkably cheaper.
On the other hand those who don't need them will have a trafo with a oversized core working at lower flux.😀
I'd suggest to go with Tector's trafo... do you agree??
Maybe it't time to open a new thread....
Cheers

Maybe a little cleaning won't hurt 😉
In the meanwhile, since the number isn't exactly 10, I will ask if the price will be the same.

Ok guys, no more joking...
Time to finalize things.
I plan to confirm the total number of trafos next monday.
So those who are interested please sign in!
Cheers
Andrea
PS For the fellow Italians (shipping costs are lower) I asked a quote for a 24+24V 250VA and got a 25€ figure.

Hi all,
I added a Wiki for the GB.

Please edit it if you find wrong informations (especially about interest for the trafos)
Cheers

Please remember the deadline!

Andrea,
So how do we arrange the money side? Paypal? Notes in the Post? Sterling or Euro?
Am I right in calculating 40+25 Euros for the UK? Do you need the 40 Euros by 30th January?
It's really good of you to shoulder this vital part of the project: you deserve the Pedja Peace Prize.
Yours appreciatively,
Chris
