Pedja Rogic 1541A DAC Custom-Wound Transformer European Union Group Purchase

Andrea (or anyone who knows):
I got one of the Tector transformers from the group buy awhile ago and am just getting around to completing my DAC (rev1.1b). I had a question regarding the primary color coding. There are two pairs of 115V primary windings; blue/black and white/brown. What is their phasing for North American use? I looked all over Tector's website and I could not find wiring/color code diagrams. I have all the secondaries figured out, but need to know how to parallel the primaries for 115V use. Thanks!

Chris

Before reading this post I thought I was very slow at building 😀

Anyway the wiring you found is right.

Ciao

I have mine mostly completed, and was getting around to configuring the output stage. I have decided to use the buffer, and recall reading some stuff regarding R105/R109 and how to connect R111/114/115/118 if using the buffer, but of course I hadn't saved wherever I read this. Is this all present in the http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-buys/29604-tda1541a-non-o-s-dac-pcb-15.html thread? Or is there a document which discusses assembly and parts selection of the 1.1b in general (I know there are a few notes on the Word parts list .doc for the DAC)? Same for the reclocker board. I have parts lists, schematics, etc. for both, but nothing which really discusses the options present. Thanks for any insight.

And email sent. Actually, I was confusing the AYA manual!! But I've sent over some notes I culled from the thread at the time - should be some help.

Cheers

Jon

BTW, I've just installed TX2575 naked Vishays as I/V in my AYA. I'll be ordering a set for the 1.1b as well. Best $20 I've spent for a while.....

I have some Caddock TF020s that I was going to use for this. Not quite up to the TX2575s, at least by reputation, but good nonetheless. Have you considered replacing any resistor that is in series with the output as well? (R105/109 if not using the buffer, R111/114/115 and 118 if buffer is in place)

Hi Daniel,

Ping me an email and I'll reply with the info I have.

Chris,

I was using TF020s in the AYA and they sounded very nice. I changed some of the AYA resistors to Caddocks, but IIRC the 1.1b was pretty much stock apart from the I/V. I think I used Dales in the construction, but haven't had the chassis open for *some* time.

Best I pop the lid.......

Hi, This is a shot in the dark as a lot of time has passed... But does anybody still have a copy of the Pedja Rogic 1541A DAC REV 1.1b documentation? I was digging through my stuff and found the PCB and transformer that I bought for this project. Unfortunately, I can't find my documentation. Can anybody help?
Thanks, Daniel
