Thanks P-A! Haha, yes. I've red that the LM4780's SPiKe protection is activated when the chip exceeds 140~150 degrees. Thusfar I still have not managed to activate it. However, I did manage to get my neighbors angry... you can't have it all is what they say right 😉.
I obtained a few of those nice, bendable metal strips from the old cassette player. I do not know how they are called, but you see them a lot in old equipment to pair/bond/group wires.
I recuperated them from the old Sony deck. Very convenient things. I wonder where I could buy them. Actually I reused lot's of parts. For example the power switch and the shielded wires are from the same cassette deck. Although I have added new X2 capacitors across the switch contacts so it lasts longer. The other wires originate from an old ATX PSU and the ferrite ring next to the power connector is from an old computer. You see, nothing is wasted over here 😉. There is one thing I want to add to the amplifier; rack mounts at the rear. But that will probably still takes a few weeks since they had to be ordered. If those are attached I will upload a new photo.
I wonder what my next Sjöström audio project will be 😉. There is so much nice stuff in your webshop!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I've received the rack handles! Well, not entirely, they are actually for kitchen drawers. We are on a budget here 😎! Therewith the amp is now fully completed:
It is all about the details right 😉 I have to say that I really like this amplifier. It is rock solid and almost drives everything. Thanks again P-A and Pavel!
When you read this and doubt to buy the PCB... don't doubt, really, just buy it. You won't be disappointed. It is amazing how well a LM-based amplifier can sound when properly implemented.
So.. that leaves me to one final question: when are the PA04 PCB's available? 😀

Kaplaars, Every time I see your builds I am amazed. They are just beautiful !! I agree with you that the PA03 is a very well sounding amp and a worthwhile build.
For a follow up you can checkout the Brainstorm project from the dutch site zelfbouwaudio.nl. I think dutch isn 't a problem for you.

Thanks man 🙂!
You mean:
Yuuup, got them 😉
Those PCB are nearing completion, I just need to solder a couple of parts. Next to that I have another project upon my sleeve; the Ovation NX. Really curious how that thing performs!

I have some more blue PA03 in my webshop and those could be the very last unless the interest doesn't increase for a group buy in August-September. Feel free to sign up my list of interest. 50 boards is the minimum.
The interest seems to be big enough so I do this for the fifth time. I have changed my sig so the link goes to a new wiki page.
It seems that the LM4780 is still in the status LIFEBUY (not OBSOLETE) so you can still buy this IC. This fifth time will most likely be the last group buy.
I'll sign up for 3 boards tonight.i still have 2 black ones , but since this will probably be the last run , I prefer to have a few extra.
Btw , the boards are awesome.

The interest is now 28 boards so soon I will send out Paypal invoices. Notice that this is the last time for this board and a group buy.
