Bksabath, are you bidding on it ? (If so I myself won´t, because it makes no sense if we increase the price this way.)
BTW the (german) description does not say "slow", it´s described as "very well looked after" and "fully operational". The seller say the reason to sell it is he travels a lot and rarely uses it.
From Gogle translate ....
Offered here is a super neat gebr.aber mint condition, fully operational, Pass Labs amplifier on, the top class.
Original price was 7500 times, - €.
Since I travel a lot, I've rarely used it and it's really a shame too numb.

Here is the manufacturer's data:

Gain: 30 dB
Frequency Response: -0 dB at DC, -3 dB at 100 kHz
Output power: 150 W max @ 1% THD, 1kHz into 8 ohms (300 watts into 4 ohms)
Maximum output voltage: 50V + _
Maximum output current: 20A + _
Input Impedance: 22 ohms balanced
Slew rate: + _ 50V/uS
Output Noise: 300 uV unweighted 20-20 kHz
Random Noise Floor: Approx. 2uv
Dynamic Range: 145 dB (Noise floor-to-peak)

I want to say not so fast is another manufacturer of the price-performance ratio to it, my opinion.
My consultant from hi-fi studio had me down to my heart, I should sell it not.

If there are any questions please ask before bidding, since each bid is bindent.

'll Answer every question as soon possible and if still images are required, I would love to send e-mail.

Porto comes together somewhat, as the Pass Labs has dead weight of 25.7 kg.

No warranty or Rüchnahme, as private sales.

Payment of costs do I send the output stage also abroad.

Humm

Remember first look came up with slow now is not so fast?

No not bidding on it

I am not alowed :D
Luky you if get it made up for you

thats 2,340 Au $$.
Someone got a bargain..

ZM - as for kids etc, pft, pretty much given up on all that rubbish.
even if it was 'offered' to me now, i'm to old to chase after them.
So it leaves the question, as the end of my genetic line, when a die -

Who will get the amp ?????

maybe I'll leave it to ZM in my will :D

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. its here, and as promised heres a pic for you...

Well, I now know it's birth date... Little sticker on the transformer - 18-4-02.
Interesting 'notes' about the outputs specs..
Obviously its never been opened before today.

I have but one question now.
Is it normal to be able to hear the transformer buzzing from 10+ meters away ???

If not (and even if it is) I'm going to need to replace the transformer.. doh..

Time to send out a few emails i think.......

some xformers are more prone than others to buzz if you have slightest amount of DC in mains
unfortunately - there is no other way to test that , than to make DC blocker , even just as test gadget
considering that you're well aware of mains voltage lethality , that's piece of cake
just search for DC Block at forum
but! , try to loosen that screw first ; in your boots I would place ring made of some soft rubber (spongy rubber - dunno exact name in English ..... it's Schaum Gumme
in Deutsch) both between xformer and case , and xformer and round plate
something as attached

there is big possibility that xformer is squeezed during transport , and just loosing that screw will cure that buzz

edit: later tonight I'll write you what's role of these 2-pin headers on both sides of flat cables
in short -(for start) just check are you in ballpark of 0V94 between two pins , when amp is fully warmed up ; while you're there - check output DC offset , too

ZM, Many thanks, you are a legend ;)
I shan't be touching anything till i have a full idea of which pot adjusts what.
I have no desire to push it into melt down by making a wrong adjustment at this stage ;)
I have a fluke 179, the knowledge on how to use it, a function generator, and only a year ago threw out my ancient bwd oscilloscope...(should look at a replacement)

more questions..
is there any place a circuit diagram for these ? ( I have NO interest in copying etc, just want it for my own reference).
the supply wiring from the bridge to the filter caps looks a little 'thinner' than i would've expected.
Now I know this would be sacrilege, but has anyone got any proven modifications or 'updates' for it ?

JV, How so ?? what am i missing ???????

Ooooooo ok.
i must admit, i was, suprised, at the trimmers appearance..
there high quality ones, but the way there sitting doesnt seem, in keeping with the rest of the magnificent build quality...

the soldering seems, pretty decent, looks like they did a good cleanup afterwards.
theres a uniform layer of dust through out, so id suspect the 'repair' was quite some time ago.

what were the original trimmers ?? single turn carbon open frames ???

JV, why do i get the idea that you've worked on these before ;)

mmmmm, ok.
looks like they've all been replaced with bournes 3286.
a 12 turn .25w trimmer..

original was a single turn .5w

wonder why ??

would it be acceptable if i replaced them with bournes 3296 (side adj low profile 25 turn) ??
Buy Trimmers, Potentiometer and Rheostat Potentiometer, linear, cermet, multiturn, side adjust,10mm,3296P,5K,0.5W Bourns 3296P-1-502LF online from RS for next day delivery.

i know theyd fit and work.
but why have they been swapped for multi turn ?
unless some one wanted far greater accuracy in its adjustment ??????

just leave everything as is ;

check what I said

stickers/notes look genuine to me (but I can't be sure 100%) , at least according to few lines in SM I had opportunity to read .
dunno for trimpots but - hey - moi anyway more like convenience of multiturn .
for schematic - there is only one gray beard around , to be asked

Me no repair guy, very non-competitive hour rate :clown:

Not the labels per se, see those in several (older) X models, but number. Easy to check for tampered output boards.
Repair can be service, even enclosed trimpots can go walkabout if a pound of dust is thrown in.

Minus the trimpots, very decent looking amplifier, imo.

(Schaumgummi, aka foam rubber)
