the power JFETs have a region at lower voltages where the
curve has an exponential (concave triode shape), and then at
higher voltages they start looking like the others.

Mr P,
is that JFET curve you describe not like the ascending half of a sine ?

(After the 1979 Russ Meyer movie i had no problem anymore differentiating between concave and convex, i always think convixen :clown: )

Thank You Mr. Pass, regarding your characteristic FET curve comments. I need to digest a little of that... But, I guess like most DIYer's, I really need to stop looking for the elusive ideal components and evaluate, optimize and finish my current design... Before something more intersting comes around??? Or, the end of the year was it??? :smash: :smash: :smash:

The production boards arrived yesterday. I thought you might
like to see the first pair of F3 channels.

Mike,

after NP has used 200 JFETS we can start begging him for the remaining 4800.
Does make me wonder how to attach those strange TO25* packages to a heatsink.

Never realised those boards are free-hanging on the heatsink.
That heatsink is some piece of work, btw.
Thank you for posting.

Manila

Good Morning

The 1K-4999 pcs price is US$0.94. We have a US$ 1K min line item, US$
1K min
order and US$ 1K min shipment. (The LU1014D has shipping multiples of
75
pcs.) Therefore, a min order actually is 1050 pcs.

"Mabuhay Shawn! Or is it Dennis? Didn't know Lovoltech jfets are manufactured there?"

djk: I'm in the USA. I deleted most of that e-mail that didn't really pertain to audio.

My point was to be that the 2500pcs minimum is for tape-and-reel with pre-formed leads.

The full lead length part comes in tubes of 75pcs, with a $1K per line item minimum.

Allan,

trying to invite the JFETS if you are not able to buy them ? :clown:
1 k ordering makes it a feasable gb, i reckon.

Jacco...Sort of. scared. 😱 Just thinking about starting GBs make me scared. After all that's going on with PCBs and parts. :cannotbe: I'm willing to gamble for a dozen or so though. Gotta try one for a buffer😎

PCB question

Hi!

Until that the Lovoltech Jfets will be available I try to build one with normal Hexfets: IRFP044.
I attache a PCB plan, could you give me any advice is it good or not and what I have to improve?

Greets:

Tyimo

Thank you Nelson for the very interesting manual. You keep us on track, man!

I cant wait until all 100 F3s are sold - and how they will sell! - and the schematics will go online - and the rest of the power-jfets will be distributed amongst us DIYers 😀

all the best
