Panels Alysvox

These were truly outstanding in a different league to 99% of what was at Munich this year. Anyone know anything about how these ribbons work. I always quite liked Apogees and had a pair of maggies a long time ago. The only full range lacking nothing panels I’ve ever heard

A little detail in this interview:

https://www.monoandstereo.com/2020/01/exclusive-interview-with-alsyvox.html
Please tell us more about the particular materials you're using and why?

Our choices are based on minimal time-domain distortion and lively sound. This means heavy and strong frames made of steel, powerful neodymium magnets, solid acrylic, and wood external parts, proprietary isolating feet to keep all structural resonance at the minimum.

. . .

Can you tell us more about your unique ribbon-planar woofer drivers?

Our design is based on the push-pull concept with magnets on both sides of the diaphragm, which allows a more linear and stronger magnetic field, giving low distortion and high sensitivity.

We also added a very long stroke (around 20mm) to reach significant SPL levels at low frequency

I call them Apogees done right. A friend in Albany NY has had a pair of the previous incarnation from Daniele which I've heard a number of times. They were driven to plenty loud levels by 50 watts - and can do just fine by 20 to 30 watts of tubes.

Never heard such "delicacy" from a speaker. And PRODIGIOUS bass - proper placement critical to mitigate overloading the room.

Magnetostatic panel, of course.
Did you see that or do you think that.
I can not see that on the pictures and in the interview he talks about a bass ribbon.
I think if you have a stretched foil on a frame it will be difficult to reach a +/- 20mm Xmax
Also if you connect the bass ribbon only at the top and bottom FS wil be very low so that you have no hi Q peak above 20Hz like Apogee and Magnepan

20 mm peak to peak, but isn't bad...

In the patent description they mention- ( flexible elastic elements being provided between the support frame
of the membrane and the magnet-holding plates to maintain the membrane support frame in a centered position with respect
to the two magnet holder plates )
those loose white vertical strings are laying on top of the foil ? Is this because of an unknown DC offset amplifier pulling it out of field alignment or some other purpose ?

The drawing description doesn’t show these white strings

i wonder mostly about there insane Xmax how that works. since a foil witch moves mostly in the middle, but with high excursion it will tension the foil and created a higher resonance at its x max. i wonder how that translates in distortion or what happens in the resonance measured at low volume compared to high. to me having less excursion and more surface area would address those problems better.. but where is the limit. how much excursion is nice and what is to much ?

it is nice there last combo is at least symmetrical, tweeter in the middle bass on the sides. i thought all there panels where the classic tweeter on the side versions, so this meight be 2 panels combined ? hopefully with one tweeter disabled
