I haven't been able to find any information to compare the ICs. If you look up the datasheet for the tda7560 to see if the board markings match the pin-out of the tda7560. The tda7560 is a sub for the PAL007.
not sure if this helps, but the tda7560 is supposed to be the same as the pal007a i know personally, i have swapped between the pioneer pal005a, pal007a, and pal007b, maybe a few others i can't remember, but no newer units from the past 5years, or so.

if I remember correctly, the remote turn on is connected to the Pin 25 of PAL007 chip. TDA7560 also has this function?
Yes.
I see. I always wondered what the HSD pin is for. thanks for the info!
I install PAL007 and it works.I did not cheeck to see of the remote wire works.
Any no why the remote wire fail to work after you replace these OEM output ICs?
I have never get one to work after changeing these output ICs

make sure pis 6, and 20 are recieving the same voltage. i've never had that problem with them. i believe this would also cause channels 3&4 to not enter standby mode.
There is at least one version of the IC 'marked' PAL007B that is NOT the same as the original PAL007B. The last pin is a 'clip detect' pin instead of an HSD pin. If you get one of those, the remote will not work. The IC I suggested will restore the remote output function.
The following is one example of an IC with the same pin configuration but with the CD pin instead of the HSD pin.

There is also the TDA7386 that has either a very weak or non-functioning HSD output (I don't remember which).

oh, no...... how can you tell the version of that one? i have not bought the st before, just the pioneer replacements, though i just put an order in for the st's, and pioneer only offers the 007b's as the current sub. though, i think they would be selling the ones with hsd, but i don't want to end up accidentally buying the different ones in the future...
As far as I know, there is no way to tell if the ones marked PAL007B will work unless you install them. It's random chance as to whether you'll get ones that work or ones that won't. Order the generic TDA ICs in the future.
