PA amp from Ali...

Uh, I would really avoid that one. Gisen, Sanway are pretty much preferable since they got EU shops which sell them, you don't need to pay taxes on them, you've got EU warranty & service and proven relieable LAB clones, not untested 'new design'. The promised 2x5kW exceeds the powercon 32 input, which is limited to 7680W. So that's not really promising. Plus, I've read in a forum the DSP tends to go haywire or just crash. On 2 Ohm (or 4 Ohm bridged) it droppes into protection after a short duration. I would not suggest buying such an amp.

Indeed. Will be interesting to see when it arrives.

Again: Norway is not in the EU, so we have to pay import taxes anyway.

Edit:
So you know which DSP this has?

Edit2:
About the power, I need about 600w/channel, figured it would be good enough for that.

Edit3:
Was originally planning on getting the LA8, maybe I should see about getting one of those as well...?

While that's true, you'd still benefit from the EU service/repair locations.

No, I don't. The stability of the DSP depends on the implementation and firmware. You will not get any firmware updates, that's the experience from friends in the PA scene who bougth extremely cheap amps from china. Not all of them are like that but the no-names - unfortunately - are. In 6m-1y you won't hear or see anything from that 'company' again. Any software issues? Too bad, no one cares.

For that, you can get a genuine LAB Gruppen amplifier

Out of curiosity, do you have the link to the discussion on Shenndare DSP issues? Would be nice to know what I am stumbling into.

Sorry, not touching that LAB Gruppen amp. Only 2ch, and not the kind of noise figures I am looking for. Will happily gamble my money away if it can be beneficial for anyone else in my situation.

One of my alternatives is getting some NCx500 for the tops in case these amps end up being unsuitable, have another solution for DSP if needed.

No, it was a local friend, he ordered it despite my objections. I tried to fix the issues but he sent it back before I could get to a conclusion (besides that the firmware is awfully buggy)

Your amp is a clone of a LAB amp. How do you expect it to perform better than the original?!

Heh, you're joking, right? Unless you add serious cooling and fans, that amp will not be able to come even close to that power! And at 8 Ohm it can only provide 380W - if the cooling is in place!

Noted, thanks.

Your amp is a clone of a LAB amp.
... Really? Are you absolutely certain that you are not mixing it up? I thought most LAB Gruppen are mostly Class A/B + Class H?

And the LA8 design is not based on anything LAB Gruppen either, as far as I know. That is made by Camco for L'Acoustics apparently.

Agreed, I need around 600W per driver for bass, a bit less for tops. If these amps are no good I want something clean, clean 300+ trumps dirty anything else, personal choice. Well aware that the numbers are different, if the gamble fails then it is super safe plan D instead.

KAFFI,
I don't have any experience with that brand you show , never heard of it,but if you want good clones ,

Get Admark,CVR or Sanway.
Those I have seen live with people around my town.

The one rack space power soft type ones are awesome!

Even sinbosen have a not so good track record around my locals, too many failures of QC,

The other guys stand behind their product and send you amp boards ,control boards and power supplies if you ever need.

I'm not a paid endorser but just wanna share my 1st hand experiences, still you are free to get what you want of course but is common over here for other members to help the community with tips and tricks.

Cheers.
Max.

FWIW I have two of those Lab Gruppen PDX3000 (with DSP) and I use them for subwoofer duty. They are good amps for the money but not the legendary "tour grade" Lab Gruppen stuff. Since the company was bought by Behringer these were released as entry-level product to capitalize on the brand reputation. Also as a step-up over the Behringer NX series. Which they are - they seem to have a little more grunt and better build quality. And at least there is domestic sales/service in US and EU...

A quote fro AurthurG (Celto) on Speakerplans forum:

First, I must spill the beans because customers must be educated before a buying decision. ADmark, CVR, Sinbo and other Aliexpress shops don't make these 1U amps. None of them. They all come from 2 main OEMs, the only 2 factories able to make reliable 1U amps in China, based on Powersoft design with their own tweaks:
drum roll....
OMB in Jiangmen
and...
HONGYI in Chengdu

Just received the amplifier, it looks very solid, shipping was quick.
Seems like it might be impossible to configure DSP at all without an USB to RS485 interface, do not have any laying about.
Seller told me they would send me the software tomorrow.

The fans spin up during power on, they are dead quiet until it reaches around 40C or thereabouts, and also seems to spin up the fans using varying speed pending on the sound level on the inputs.

The PFA10K is made by OMB, the power amp itself seems quiet enough, I finally need a better audio interface.....My trusty old UR28M is too noisy for this thing, but that is a different thread topic. Might try with the Audient iD14 MKII tomorrow, though I suspect it is not much better.

Very impressive how much bass I can get out of 2 x 18"s without boxes or baffles, utilizing the full 10mm xmax, a whole lot of flapping about.
