Well, I've finished testing it, so with the 180 pF, it's actually the same.
Then I just tested it with the front-end regulator, and it works fine.
I'm thinking of trying another driver transistor because it worked better with the MJE15031, so I'll try changing the drivers. Then I'll just have to test the ground wiring for the front-end regulator, but I think this time I'm on the right track.

So I tested other drivers here with the MJF44H11/MJF45H11 pair. The Toshibas I originally installed aren't suitable for this regulator.
I'm getting pretty good results; things are stabilized.
I could also try putting the original MPSAs back on the small signals, but I'll leave it at that.
