Thats exactly how I just isntalled them. Who the heck knows why this amp had three 57s in that one channel. I dont think anyone ever repaired this amp...
Maybe. Probably. In any case this amp is fixed! Turned out to be two output transistors, two resistors, and two MPSUx7s. I fixed it from taking parts from a really beat Orion 2150 amp.
It's not going to be reliable with mixed output transistors. For it to be reliable, you'll need to replace all of the outputs in the blown channel.
I know that. I actually ended up using somewhat matching transistors that came out of the Orion 2150; same vintage. I'll have to ask the owner if he wants to pay the $$ to replace them with brand new pieces. I'll probably need new emitter resistors too. Really, this amp came from a collector and will likely never be run. He's got like 6 of these under his desk! LOL! Hes giving me a lot of work!
