Hi Fig88,
Well, in your case the best result is obtained by a quite extended upgrade. I mean the full upgrade of the digital section, and also a full upgrade of the analogue section. The use of USB in for digital signals from PC it may offer a better quality, than coax. For further and more details, please see your PM.

Hi everyone!
I would like to share my experience upgrading my 203 with Coris. As you know he is the one offering the 203 upgrades on this forum. I requested the upgrade info and after some chat with Coris I decided to go for it. I opted for full upgrade including LPS, clock board, cooling upgrades, etc. I also purchased I2S board from oppomod.com and sent it together with my player to Coris to be installed together with his upgrades.
I took a while since I travelled for almost a month, but after returning from my trip, I received back my player within a few days. I am attaching photo of my player internals after Coris's work. He did great and I like his work.
But the most impressive part of all this story is a sound! The original player was quite ok, although nothing to write home about. I heard better or equal sounding ones for far less money. But after the upgrades I was astounded to hear things in CDs from my collection that I have never heard 🙂. That was surprising, but the biggest surprise came from I2S board which when connected to the external DAC gave great clarity without sounding clinical if you know what I mean. Music just "opened up". I am no hifi reviewer therefore my categories are simple - either I like the music from any given system or I don't 🙂. I should admit that was the best result for the money spent on a player.
Coris comes highly recommended.
Enjoy the attached photos.

Thinking about changing out all of the output op amps in my UDP-205. Currently using only the balanced cables but I thought I'd do them all while I'm at it.

Dear Coris!
I’ve been in and out of building my perfect home theater since 2005. Moved across country in 2018 leaving everything behind, except, a few choice pieces of equipment; Anthem D2, Anthem P5, and an OPPO UDP205 (a recent acquisition). I still watch ALOT of movies on my OPPO in what is now a descent 2ch system in an A/V room. I’ve been interested in modifying/upgrading my OPPO for some time, reviewing the Oppo Mod and Clones Audio products. I’ve heard very good things about your modifications and would like more information.
I hope you can help. Thank you.
