My experience, if of use to anyone -- probably not! I started with a MAOP7 in a FH3 and found the bass too room bloomy. Moved them out of the corners, back into the corners, tried a lot but could never find a sweet spot. Changed to 7l closed with an eq'd 12" pro driver in ~30l WAW. Prefer it 10 to 1 over the single driver. I've not listened to the MAOP10, but have also lived with the Alpair10.3 in a couple of configurations and the MAOP7 subjectively wins for me hands down.
Sweet, looks like I’ve got a Xmas project build to get on with. The smaller form factor suits the available space I’ve got. Need to get some ply first though.
Thanks
Thanks
This sometimes gets a bit confusing. Whold the 7ms also work in the Storm Shadow ?If Storm Shawdow is the BabyLab for the P7 then yes.

Might that be in the big MTMs with the 12pws?My M7 is going with twin 7”.

No, the more cosmetically appropriate ones with sealed SDX7.
The M7 i have did spend a condiderable amount of time in the MTMs you mention.

Right, so I’ve kicked off a Storm Shadow build, for the MAOP 7.2s. Have cut up a small sheet of 12mm Red Oak ply, and will be using some spare 18mm for the baffles (sides adjusted to suit). Only have 4 short clamps, so the glue up will be slow. Don’t have any 1/2 inch felt either, but do have some poly acoustic insulation, that I can cut down to the required thickness - do the experts see any flaws in this approach?
Here’s a few pics of progress so far. Getting the cut outs sorted with a diy circle gauge was the most nail biting part so far, but more than happy with the results.

FWIW: MAOP 11 out of stock @ madisound
Given the consensus here is that MAOP 10 is better sounding than M11, I'm surprised M10 is not the one that is out of stock

Hi nandappe, I have purchased some maops with your recommendation - you look like you know what you're talking about with advice about different maops. I was looking at different cabinets and saw your post on some you have. Are the plans available? I have done some searching here's and google and can't find them. Thanks you.

Hi Matt81,

Damped Duct is better decribed as an ML-Voigt (a back loaded horn variation)
Hi Dave,
Based on the impedance characteristics, I believe it would be appropriate to refer to it as a "back-loaded horn."
In my listening experience, I mostly perceive it as a Back-Loaded Horn.
What are your thoughts on this?

Not your typical damped duct design… this one is just weird.
Could probably use some strategic damping to help clean up that impedance curve. Everything aboive the furst 2 peaks are likely audiable.
