Another Old Soul lives. Went together without incident. Being limited on chassis’ I had to temporarily displace my beloved Scryer. We’ll see which one earns the chassis :)

I went the chicken route and started with the 2SA1941. Approx 28v rails and starting off around 1A4 Iq.

Lastly, a HUGE thanks to banderson546 for sharing his extra kit with me. Thanks again Bruce!

Oh, and thanks to ZM for keeping us busy with amazing amps…:worship:

Looking forward to any listening impressions you have to share and be careful if you go the Ge route as you may not see failure immediately and also hope you never see any device failure. Congratulations on being among the hopelessly addicted.

Cheers

Hi Cody,

My two Ge part failures were both within the first 24 hours of use. (One didn't work property even at the Iq bias stage; the other failed after maybe half a day of running in).

The necessity to run these parts at lower current makes for a very nice summer (and year round) amp. And it's kinda neat having an amp with a
slightly negative tempco. :)

Cheers,
Dennis
