Anybody who can help me to.

I'd like to get all info availble of these speakers. Itt D250SD equiped with SCAN-SPEAK drivers. I found them at a flee market for 15€ in Belgium. For as far as i now there are 2 more pare of them in Belgium. I learned scanspeak had an exclusive contract with B&O to provide drivers in the 70's. The drivers look verry solid and handmade with a strong rubbery((woofer) tweeter is made of cotton or silk) edge. Especially i'd like to now how old they are(+/-40j I think) and how they are compared with new speakers in sound quality. My opinion they are the best, but what do I now?
My amp. is onley a Yamaha resciever RC-V560RDS(1990) 75watts and 20Hz-20kHz output.
Room: not verry well accoustically.

Friendly regarts.

Pic's ITT D250SD

I don't now a thing about T/S mesurements, wikipedia will teach me 🙂
The drivers are a D3804 and a 21W-D3808. Can't see ...µF of elco.

Anyway I don't feel like re-cap yet, so far they sound nice enough to me.
However I dit regleu them afther picture show this time and that really make's a difference in the lower sound. They must be air tight.

About the low/bass sound, there's a picture of my livingroom. Where the X is U really get a strong bass sound. Not where U want it but breathtaking, massive.

Beware your neigbours.

Bert.

😉

you obviously didn't read thread form post 1

in post #2 you\ll find T/S parameters for drivers , xover values are also there

search , and you'll find another thread , with proposal for box - if memory serves me well , it was around 90L , big , tall one

found the data I mentioned :

big tall box , W=10" , D= 8" , H=56" , all dimensions internal

driver situated at 30" from top
port D=2" , L=0.75" situated at 56" from top

stuffing 400gr of that white thing per box , evenly through entire volume

it will be much better

Zenmod, I have te ITT's in my possession too and I'm thinking about making a new enclosure, however pure for esthetic reasons, would it be possible to keep the dimensions smaller but broader? Is suppose that I should recalculate the driver positioning then?

Hi Guys. I have bought ITT 235SD with d3804 mid/tweet.

Cabinets were upgraded with new speaker plugs, new capacitors, and resistors.

With my EL84 almp they sound very nice.

I stumped upon an idea somewhere on diya to remove the front metal, mesh type, grille that sits on the tweeter.

Some say it will open the sound a bit, help imagining and stuff like that.

On the other hand, some say that this metal mesh refracts the sound making it less directional but more widespread.

Metal grille is glued hard so taking it off is cumbersome task.

Please share opinions on that matter.

Cheers.
