Any simple box designs?
They should suit a 7 litre (0.25 cu ft) sealed enclosure.
(Provided they don't have perished foam suspensions!)
Yes, perfect for a 36" Cornu and placed in your workshop, office or the downstairs living room. Small amp, big sound. Your friends won't believe that's the only speaker playing.

I wish I'd known about the Cornu back when I had a pair! Wait... that didn't sound quite right...
Seriously, they're worth fooling with. Those were my first real audio purchase; I recall riding my bike home from Radio Shaft with a pair of these swinging from the handlebars (😬) after finding them on closeout for ten bucks. If I'd had the guidance from a forum like this I might have treated them a bit better. I should have anyway, 'cause I cut a lot of grass for that money.
Enjoy! 🙂

We eventually do grow them!I wish I'd known about the Cornu back when I had a pair! Wait... that didn't sound quite right...
By someone who tested out this driver for its T/S Parameters...0.63 cubic feet worth of internal volume...fb , or the tuned box frequency, a port-tube with a two-inch inside diameter, 1.875 inches long. I have had good luck with another five-inch RS unit, the 40-1284E, they suck up power & a big amp can cook them if driven too hard.

So something like 7"x10"x15" internal with the suggested port on the back?By someone who tested out this driver for its T/S Parameters...0.63 cubic feet worth of internal volume...fb , or the tuned box frequency, a port-tube with a two-inch inside diameter, 1.875 inches long.
Why not? Good opportunity to get a dats and start playing around with WinISD or any other modeling software
Yes, check through the never ending thread. Sorry but I am on the iPad now and not so smart with it. Search for ‘ever think of building a Cornu? Search in that thread for the RS 1354 driver.any reference to a handy dandy cornu design that is easily built?

Thanx Cal. That looks a lot like the Coral 5” with a Foster surround.
Looks like a good driver to play with.
I can suggest some tweaks.

Like you Dave, this thread is my introduction to it. That says a few things. One must guess the low power rating didn’t help in that day and age. Hence the Cornu suggestion.
Did Coral have drivers made in Thailand?

It is likely a Foster.
And except Japan i don’t know where Coral had factories. Foster had them all over. There were certainly 40-1197made in Thailand

They seem pristine:(Provided they don't have perished foam suspensions!)
^Those look to me like treated fabric surrounds, which would provide a longevity bonus.
What say you?

Maybe a 0.53x mini Karlsonator would work well. I use Dayton PA130-8 on this scale of Karlsonator and they sound wonderful.

Same box works well for dual 3FE25-16 or single PA130-8. I suspect the RS 5in full range would work swell.
Perfect in foam core or wood. Foam core can be built in an evening on a kitchen table.

As i was browsing pictures, Coral typically has 5 legs or holes (ie Holey Basket), the Fosters have 4.
