I like the looks of this!
Class D amps and DSP. I bet it's Hypex all the way. No crystals in sight... 🙂
Top part looks just fine, bottom just does not match the look of top part in my opinion. Totaly different styles. Woofer looks cheesy.View attachment 1443378
Is the crystal for chakra alignment or general vibe elevation?
The thought has crossed my mind...
I'm a bit worried that an OB 18" won't do much when it comes to bass. I know what an IB can do. 🙂
Also I'm a nood on OB so I have no idea what to expect in my small room. Maybe it's worth a try. Any suggestions on H baffle size?
If I have the 8's directly above the H baffle, maybe I can cross higher and reduce baffle width on the 8's?
Maybe worth to go to ripole for the bass cabinet in order to winn an octave in the lows. But at the price of reduced sensivity and the needing of lower low pass high order cut off : 100/100 hz LP. Google jazzman + ripole. He is a mermber here.
A ripole is a little more cardioid. The second advantage is you winn almost 10 hz below Fs for bass extension !
Notice some have a use of the ripole only for sub behavior like 60 hz max in littliest rooms. Then go classic above, like sealed, to have this rock impact up to 150hz where drums have their apex...
Anyway the problem with OB likes is always the need to be farer from the front wall than a classic system !
So how little is the room should dictate your the results.
Edit : an option if the room is no so big is the nude bass with two 18" face to face, spaced by a slot by tying them together with rods. But needs 18" with high Xmax and heavier cone iirc ! (of course more deplacement than a H-Frame for illustration)
