Hi!

OK Kanwar , back now . Thanks for the tip I will get the dimensiones of heatsink available in mkt and position the fets accordingly and proceed.

Will also look at some high end pro amp layouts just to get an idea. This is a new turf for me.

Regards

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

How much progress you have made so far...?

HI Kanwar,

Did pay a visit to the local Mkt. Unfortunately it is not as well stocked as the LJR Mkt at Delhi. Summer being at its peak the heatsink arena is dominated by the plain regular vertical finned invertor/UPS types. I was unable to find a suitable one wherein I can orient the mosfets on the sides along the length for proper forced cooling.

On second thought I went thru some QSC designs and found even they follow the edge placement approach with one fan in middle catering to cooling of both channels placed back to back.
Given the limitations I feel placing the devices on edge is better option as we have a wide choice there where heatsinks are concerned.

BTW I have been gifted a defunct chinese "HORROR "

:hot:

Amplifier, I have thrown all stuff out but feel it will make a nice "Pro" cabinet for your R2R amp.

Rahul

QSC Designs are Class-H ones much efficient than class-B designs therefore they prefer edge placement of devices and also produces less heat in comparision to Class-AB designs...

You have thrown all the stuff out, but from WHICH Thing....

BTW what is your overall impression about the sound quality of the prototype.

The lows ,mids and the highs. Given the pro environment and lower power audiophile version. Just curious as I would be running them thru a couple of JBLs and KEFs or the B&O in my radio shack. As you know no DJ setups here.
