So, Mr. Pass likes the J2 and the SIT-1...
Would be great to know his preferred preamps, too.
I like them all......
If I need gain and/or balanced I use the XP-30, otherwise the B1. Like
much of the equipment use in amplifier listening, it is very familiar. My two
current systems have remained relatively unchanged for almost 10 years
except for the DUT.

I have 4 original 2SK170BL for the B1...

Nelson probably means B1-V2 being that it is the latest version. Could be wrong, many times I am. I have built both versions and I prefer the B1-V2 version over the first one.
wdecho, do you have the schematics or the link for the thread? Thanks!Nelson probably means B1-V2 being that it is the latest version. Could be wrong, many times I am. I have built both versions and I prefer the B1-V2 version over the first one.

I had the pleasurable opportunity to sit down this morning and watch a bunch of his videos this morning.
What struck me most about his interviews was not his wealth in knowledge and history but, how laid back he is (he did however copy my dress code).
His willingness to share his knowledge with people is something you just do not see from an owner of a company.
More so, when his company builds amps.
You just dont find that anywhere else.
What a great person.
