Indeed it's often overlooked how much the talent and artistic vision of the guy(s)/gal(s) on the other side of that glass window contribute to the end result.

" how come your playing isn't as clean and articulate, or the soundstaging as magical as on that last studio album?"😉

Then of course there are performers who probably couldn't hit a wrong note on a bet, and are always a joy.

The most recent memorable of those for me were Harry Manx/Kevin Breit, the Wailin' Jennys, and Loreena McKennitt

I put together a tribute mix of a couple of hours of RVG recording artistry examples, if you can get decent sound out of your computer (mine goes in to a dac then my pre amp)
