Now Playing + What are you listening to?

Taj Mahal, "The Real Thing". Got the LP in 1971 when it came out and I was a teenager. They finally released it on CD after all these years. I wore out the LP in the late '70s, so I'm completely stoked to have it again.

I'm getting ready to move out of the Los Angeles area into a semi-rural location, so the song "Gonna move up to the country and paint my mailbox blue" (a song about leaving Los Angeles, playing right now) has special meaning for me that it didn't have when I first got the album.

It's a little rough around the edges, but there's so much joy in this music that it warms my heart every bit as much as in my younger days when I used to listen to it. And as a double album that's now priced at eleven bucks online it's a great buy.

Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People

Another band you have to hear for yourself!
When you like their song "Almost Crimes" you will be able to feel this album although this song is very different from the rest of this recording.
Too many guitars to count!

Just Cool!

Charlie Byrd Trio - Bossa Nova Years
Kathleen Ferrier - any

Everytime these LP's are played through my Ortofon SPU Classic GE cartridge and Saba 8" fullranges, I am taught what art is and what musicianship is.
