Timewave Zero by Blood Incantation
Blood Incantation is a death metal band and I will think twice before listening to death metal 😵 However, Timewave Zero is an ambient/drone album, released in 2022. Ever since I've downloaded this High Res album 3 years ago it has been almost on daily rotation. Especially when I come home from work, there is nothing more pleasant than lie on the coutch, turning up the volume and loose myself in their massive and heavy thumping and pulsating sound. Each track has more or less a melodic theme, short and repetitive. There are no vocals. The audio quality is superb. It has an analogue feeling, but I have no idea which instruments were used. These guys must be musically very talented, the album is cohesive from a to z. All tracks reach my feelings easily, despite their industrial nature. In my imagination the music takes me on a dramatic trip. Usually I fall asleep some 30 minutes in. I am an avid ambient and classic listener, maybe that also counts. Besides I dont need any mind altering drugs to drift away. Important is that you are alone when listening. Impossible music for a cosy time with friends or family.
