Now Playing + What are you listening to?

Dr. Seuss / Boris Karloff - How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Track 4 has got to be one of the coolest holiday songs every made.

Vince Guaraldi - A Charlie Brown Christmas
Track 3 always makes me think of a bunch of kids with big round heads tromping across an endless field of snow.

Raymond Cushing - Peace On Earth
This last one is a self-made CD-R of acoustic guitar Christmas songs each about 2 min long. Best part is that it is by a busker at one of the local transit stations. Recording is surprisingly good, probably because it lacks any compression.

Merry and Happy everyone!

now playing...

arto lindsay´s ¨salt¨, sultry bossa-nova+postmodern juggernaut mix;
marianne faithfull´s ¨vagabond ways¨ and ¨kissin´ time¨, two recent acquisitions.
Indio Solari´s ¨el tesoro de los inocentes¨ -the innocent´s treasure-, great garage rock from Buenos Aires.

Lisandro, nice to meet some argentine countryfellow here!
And some sort of brother in arms indeed: I like Jeff Buckley too...

If you like funky please try ¨are you OK?¨ by Was -not Was- (the Was bros. producers funky stravaganza project). I believe the record is 1991 vintage.
Cheers.

And happy new year for everybody.

A perfect circle - eMOTIVe.

Weird stuff. It's a cover album (a conceptual covers album, if that's possible) of songs about war. Has some brilliant moments (the opening cover of Crucifix's "Annihilation", John Lennons' "Imagine", now turned into a dark, cynical piece, or the original "Passive"), and it really grew on me after a couple of listens. Give it a whirl, i guess some people here will like it.

PS: Great to meet another Argentinian in these boards! Felices fiestas che! 🙂

May be Mr. John Curl might remember this😀
