Quite interesting to hear how they didn't worry about removing all the extraneous noises back then, the technology just made such luxuries completely out of the question - constant noises of stands being knocked, or feet shifting, stage bits and pieces bumped - in the quiet moments there is quite a cacophany of such sounds !!Schwarzkopf Sings Pamina in Der Zauberflote, von Karajan - on the PC, from 78s in '53. Quite a bit of 78 rotational bad patch "distortion" at the beginning, but they haven't tried to fix it - which is a good thing! Nice sense of air, depth - crescendos not too bad ...
David Bowie - Reality, on the PC ... good PRaT, if you're into that sort of thing, . These days one can have so much fun in the studio, playing with sound textures any which way one wants, building quite facinating musical structures - this is a good example of this ...
Listening to my Billy Joel Record
Current song: Still rock and roll to me
I recently got Billy's "Greatest Hits Volume 1&2 "
It's a two CD set.
Actually, the CDs sound very good with an excellent CD mastering.
It's amazing how many great songs he wrote and recorded.
