Gil Scott-Heron - "I'm New Here"

Amazing! Been a fan for years. Buy this and follow GS-H's instructions and listen to it for the first time with no interruptions - it's only 28 mins. Surely people can find that short time in their days to do so. If not, that is sad.

If you love acoustic guitar played with passion this is it!!!...They are FIERCE at times! The live venues just push their material over the top. I like Flamenco, which they play a bit of...but do not enjoy a lot of the ultra smooth over engineered stuff out their right now. I LOVE this stuff and will be looking for an excellent recording on vinyl.

Saw the best show so far this year for me- Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship, the Robert Ellis Band (Robert played at JanFest last year), and Dark Dark Dark. An interesting mix of styles, but old farts like me shouldn't be up that late (show ended at 2, had to be at work by 8).

STUNNINGLY good music.

The Mohawk, a really nice club among the Red River cluster of music venues. Robert Ellis will be touring California with his band over the next few weeks- I highly, highly recommend my former neighbors to go see them. I'll be doing some acoustic-only recordings of them next month.
