The amp is to find here:
??????????????A????? - ?? - Yahoo!???
By operating both at this knob and the associated remote control there is not to observe any change of the input - only "TUNER" remains in operation.
How I can check the correct operation of the controller NEC µPD75004CU-199 ?
Is there a custom made (mask) programming applied?
The encoder looks not like that one from the first picture, but than the second picture from follow links:
http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/38788/Encoder.jpg
??????????????A????? - ?? - Yahoo!???
Type No is follow: 9905400-332a (controlling by change of capacity ?)
What kind of encoder is this?

Hi there, Ijust read your thread. reason, I’ve got the same problem. How did you solve this problem? Is it just the SuperCap 0,047F 5.5V to change? Although it is a long time ago, I hope you can remember. Thank you
I was not able to perform the correct steps for troubleshooting and gave the device back to my friend. He sent it to the Kenwood service center, where a repair was carried out - after which the problem was solved. The component causing the error was the MCU from NEC the cost for repair was 300 € (please note: 9 years ago).
Thank you for your reply, cause I’ve got the same problem and it was solved for about 300€, I think that it must be the NEC IC. I hoped that it was just the SuperCap which is simple to change. First I will do some measurements to the IC, then I must try to find a new one! The Volume/Mute is doing fine. Anyway, thanks again, very kind. Best regards from Holland.
